Santa's Helpers! And DIY Felt Christmas Stockings!

Wearing our Santa helper hats and Christmas cheer, we went to the children's hospital on Christmas and delivered stuffed animals to the children who were in recovery from heart surgery. The children wish the children Merry Christmas in Chinese and give them a small gift. They were Minions, My Little Ponies, Super Heros, Felix the Cat and other stuffed animals Chinese children love.

After our bags were emptied we gathered around the reception and sang Christmas songs and carols. The children and care takers come out of their rooms and we hope we've brightened their day just a little bit. I took a few pics of the crowed watching us sing!

Homemade Felt Christmas Stockings for Esther, Happiness, Julie, Busayo and Emily.

I had so much fun making these! With felt, a few buttons and strips of fabric for embellishment, a midget sewing machine and a hot glue gun,  the felt Christmas stockings came to life! I made them for the singles in our small church congregation here. Some are students from foreign countries like Georgia and Nigeria. Others were here teaching English and wouldn't be leaving for the holidays. I really love them!

And I stuffed them with such awesome stuff! Jewelry, cute stationary stuff, a little wallet, a scarf and of course goodies and chocolates.... and I was SO excited to gift them. Some waited until Christmas morning to open it because it was the only thing they had to open!
